Orville "Ray" Browning

               Orville “Ray” Browning, 74, of Hutchinson, Kansas, passed away April 21, 2024, at Hutchinson Regional Medical Center. He was born November 2, 1949, in Lyons, Kansas, the son of Orville and Adabel (Eubank) Browning. Ray has resided in Hutchinson since 2017, formerly of Lyons. He graduated from Holyrood High School, Holyrood, Kansas, with the class of 1968. Ray served in the United States Army from August 7, 1970 until his honorable discharge on August 6, 1976. He received a Vietnam Service Medal. Ray was a supervisor at Lyons Salt for over thirty years and was a farmer. He was a former member of Grace Lutheran Church, Lyons. Ray was part of the Hutchinson McDonald’s coffee group. He enjoyed playing horseshoes and bowling. On July 18, 1999, Ray was united in marriage with Melinda Rauch in Lyons. Ray is survived by his wife, Melinda Browning of Hutchinson, KS; four children, James Browning and wife Christy of Silver Springs, TX, Yvonne Danyluk and husband Kelly of Hutchinson, KS, Jason Lattimer and wife Nicole of Chase, KS, and Jeremy Lattimer and wife Jennifer of Kansas City, MO; two sisters, Norma Perkins and husband Harold of Sidney, NE, and Pat Hatfield of Seattle, WA; eight grandchildren, Ridge, Parker, Pryce, Elizabeth, Wade, Timmy, Taylor, and Jayden; great-grandson, Bennett; and cousin, Keven Bradfeild. Ray is preceded in death by his parents; and son, Richard Lattimer. Funeral service will be at 10:30 A.M., Saturday, April 27, 2024, at Birzer Funeral Home, Lyons, with Pastor Kenton Abbott officiating. Burial will follow at the Lyons Municipal Cemetery, with military honors by Ft. Riley Honor Guard. Visitation will be from 2:00 until 7:00 P.M., Friday, April 26, 2024, at Birzer Funeral Home, Lyons, with family present from 5:00 until 7:00 P.M. The family suggests memorials be made out to Birzer Funeral Home, Lyons.
