Jack Hubert Norris

Jack Hubert Norris, 85, of Thornton, Colorado, passed away February 19, 2024, at his home. He was born April 23, 1938, in Salem, Illinois, the son of Earl and Erma (Rogers) Norris. Jack has resided in Thornton, Colorado for the past twenty years, formerly of Hutchinson and Lyons. Jack was a lineman for Ark Valley Electric in Hutchinson from 1971, until his retirement in 2003. He was a member of Crossroads Church, Thornton, Colorado, and was a former member of the First Baptist Church, Lyons. He enjoyed riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle with his friends. On January 21, 1961, Jack was united in marriage with Judy Virginia Smith in Geneseo, Kansas. They celebrated sixty-two years of marriage. He is survived by his wife, Judy Norris of Thornton, CO; daughter, Kristin Harrison and husband David of Thornton, CO; brother, Paul Norris of Springfield, IL; sister, Doris Ferrell of Salem, IL; six grandchildren, Jack Meyers and wife Erica of Park City, KS, Annie Meyers-Burns of Hays, KS, Kaden Koch of Thornton, CO, Jayci Meyers of Wichita, KS, Addyson Harrison of Thornton, CO, and Steeley Meyers of Wichita, KS; eight great-grandchildren, Brody Meyers, Memphis Meyers, Dominic Utter, Riley Utter, Charlee Utter, Skyler Ashcraft, Braden Dinkel, and Callie Burns; and son-in-law, Kenneth Meyers of Wichita, KS. Jack is preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Gina Meyers; and his granddaughter, Lindsey Meyers. Funeral service will be at 10:30 A.M., March 5, 2024, at Birzer Funeral Home, Lyons, with Pastor Michael Rogers officiating. Burial will follow at the Lyons Municipal Cemetery, Lyons. Visitation will be from 5:00 until 7:00 P.M., Monday, March 4, 2024, at Birzer Funeral Home, Lyons, with family present. Memorials may be given to the Parkinson’s Foundation in care of Birzer Funeral Home, Lyons.
