Lorraine Susan (Brown) Brady-Hemphill

Lorraine Susan Brady-Hemphill,72, of St. Joseph, MO formally of Joplin, MO, gained her angel wings on February 14, 2026 surrounded by family and friends. She was born in Lyons KS on October 5, 1953 to George and Estelle (Sue) Brown of Lyons KS, and was the oldest of seven children. She is survived by her husband, Tony Hemphill, Joplin, MO, her three daughters, Kim Metselaar of St. Joseph, MO, Shelly Miles of Topeka KS, and Angela (Angi) Steward Decatur, IL, and two step sons, Ravin J, Hemphill of Joplin, and Coda Hoover of Joplin. Three brothers, Ralph (Lisa) Brown of Mississippi, Kevin Brown of Louisiana, and Jeff (Michelle) Brown of Lyons, and a sister Shirley Brown of Hutchinson. She has 9 grandchildren, Brett (Danielle) Capps of St. Joseph, MO, Brandon (Katie) Capps of Pratt, KS, Courtney Capps of Hutchinson, Eric Mills of Moberly, MO, Morgan Zelenka of Topeka, KS, Whitney Zelenka of Hutchinson, KS, Dana (Ron) Rockhold Decatur, IL, Troy Brady Phoenix AZ, Tiffany (Maddie) Reazin-Kime of Wichita, KS. She has 16 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews that she was close to. She was preceded in death by a brother James Brown and a sister Karen Mayfeild, and a son, William (Bill) Mills. A Celebration of life will be held Monday Feb 23, 2026 3:00-7:00pm at Carey Park at the Home Builders Building in Hutchinson Ks. Cremation arrangements were entrusted to Birzer Funeral Home.
